Things To Do

Things to do in Vancouver

STANLEY PARK

One the most famous parks in the world, and definitely the most famous of Vancouver attractions, is Stanley Park. It is home to the scenic Seawall and is perfect for walking, biking and rollerblading. It has gardens, walking trails, beaches, historic Totems, and the Vancouver Aquarium.

CHINATOWN VANCOUVER

Historic, vibrant and diverse, Chinatown Vancouver is one of the largest Chinatowns in the western hemisphere and a definite must-visit Vancouver attraction. It’s second only to San Francisco in land-size and has the third-largest population. Home to shops, restaurants and historic sites this is one of the best places to stroll, explore and dine.

GASTOWN

One of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods, Gastown, is packed with historic architecture, galleries, restaurants, and fashion boutiques. It’s also the place to shop for innovative, high-end interior design.

VANCOUVER HARBOUR CRUISE

Vancouver’s Harbour Cruise is Vancouver’s best sightseeing, dining and special event cruise. Join Vancouver’s most popular Sunset Dinner Cruise, an amazing opportunity to enjoy the fabulous sunset view with your family and friends.

SEA TO SKY GONDOLA

Opened in May 2014, the Sea to Sky Gondola takes you to 885m above sea level. The ride up provides sweeping views of Howe Sound, the majestic coastal forest and surrounding mountains. Once at the top, many adventures await including two different interpretive loop trails with cantilevered viewing platforms, the spectacular Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, numerous hiking trails, rock climbing, backcountry access and much more.

THE VANCOUVER LOOKOUT AT HARBOUR CENTRE

The Vancouver Lookout at Harbour Centre has a spectacular 360° view of Metro Vancouver, the majestic North Shore Mountains and perhaps even Vancouver Island just off the Pacific Coast. Your experience starts as you climb the outside of the building in an exterior glass elevator, which takes approximately 45 seconds from street level to the deck. On arrival, you are delivered 167 m on top of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

GROUSE MOUNTAIN

Grouse Mountain is Vancouver’s premier four-season attraction. Panoramic views of the city, ocean and mountains unfold as the Skyride, North America’s largest aerial tram system, whisks visitors to the mountaintop. Situated only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Grouse Mountain is truly the marriage of wilderness and civilization. Experience the jaw-dropping 360-degree views from The Eye of the Wind, the world’s first wind turbine with a view POD accessible by elevator. Witness the majesty of two orphaned grizzly bears in a 5-acre Wildlife Refuge, or enjoy the thrilling rush of adrenaline as you soar on Grouse Mountain’s dual-line, five-line zipline.

Grouse Mountain’s winter activities include the finest in local skiing and snowboarding, as well as snowshoeing, ice-skating and sleigh rides. In summer, activities include entertaining lumberjack shows, hiking trails, guided eco walks, paragliding, falconry demonstrations, scenic chairlift rides, helicopter tours and Breakfast with the Bears.

CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE

The 137m long, 70m high Capilano Suspension Bridge has thrilled visitors since 1889. While the wobbly bridge and stunning location is a Vancouver landmark, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park offers an all-encompassing BC experience. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park has the world’s largest private collection of totem poles, including early 1900’s local Coast Salish in the Totem Park and Haida, Tsimsian and Tlingit poles that have been carved on-site over the past 20 years in Kia’palano.

THE MUSEUM OF VANCOUVER

The Museum of Vancouver (MOV) creates Vancouver-focused exhibitions and programs that encourage dynamic conversations about what was, is, and can be Vancouver. Permanent exhibitions tell the city’s stories, starting with an exhibition on the Musqueam First Nation’s ancient landscape and living culture, continuing through the late 1970s. MOV is located in scenic Vanier Park in Kitsilano, 5 minutes from downtown and is accessible by car, bus, Vancouver Trolley and False Creek Ferries.

WHISTLER

Whistler is about a two-hour drive from Vancouver and offers summer adventures including Whitewater Rafting, Horse Riding, Biking and Jet-Boating. Here you can fly the longest ziplines in Canada and swing from the trees in the Treetop adventure course. In the winter months, try your hand at Skiing, Snowmobiling, Snowshoeing and Winter ziplining.

TANDEM SKYDIVING
